ZEGAS

Approx. 8.5"x11"; India ink, colored dye, watercolors, and colored pencils on watercolor paper

My friend, cartoonist Michel Fiffe, released the first issue of his self published 'Zegas' a couple of weeks ago. In fact, he just had a release party for it this past Friday in Brooklyn, New York.

I've been a fan of Michel's art and excellent articles on comics/cartooning for a while now. And I more than enjoyed my copy of 'ZEGAS' when I ordered it from him. It's great fun with fabulous art.

Since I'm not the most eloquent talker, as appreciation, I asked Michel if it would be OK to do some 'fan art' of one of the main characters, Emily. Michel said 'cool' and here we are.

If you get a chance, check out Michel's work and contact him to order a copy of 'ZEGAS'. He's a great cartoonist and an even greater guy.

The link to Michel's website is in my Favorites to the right of this page.
Or just go to www.michelfiffe.com.

Rico,

That's cool! I've yet to meet Michel, but he and I have email/online buddies for a while. We share many of the same passions for comics and certain artists and back issues! Plus I think he's a fantastic cartoonist to boot.

I picked up a copy of Zegas on Sunday at the Baltimore Comic Con. So far I've only flipped through it and haven't read it yet. I had not heard of Michel or Zegas before I stopped at his table. I was pulled in by the look of it, especially the cityscapes, and the color pallete. We chatted for 5-10 minutes, while he personalized my copy. I can't wait to sit down and read it.
